Procedures for the PTT Technique
and InstaTemp® Max
| |
This technique can be applied
when constructing provisionals with InstaTemp® Max an automixing bis-acryl
composite. Many applications are available such as single, multiple units,
onlays, inlays and veneers for short or long term use. The procedures are as
follows:
| |
| |
1.
Take an impression of the area
to be fabricated using normal impression procedures.
| |
| |
2.
Pour diagnostic model and
replace areas of missing teeth by hand waxing or adding denture teeth. Add wax
to the margins and interproximal areas for required thickness when completing
the provisional.
| |
| |
3.
Duplicate the model and
fabricate a Vacuum Form Matrix .020 thickness.

| |
a.
Begin by placing a new mixing tip onto the A1 or B1 cartridge and your choice of the other cartridges (A2, A3.5, or Bleach) or all five at one time. This depends on the realistic shades that you are trying to create.
| |
| |
| |
b.
Lift the lever of the Dispensing
Gun and insert the 4:1 Slide.

| |
c.

Lift locking lever of the
Dispensing Gun. Insert the A1 or B1 Cartridge and snap lever closed.

Extrude a small amount of the A1
directly into the clear matrix along the incisal area only. Then remove the
cartridge and replace with the A2 or A3.5. Placing the mixing tip directly into
the A1 begin extruding the material and completely fill the matrix. InstaTemp®
Max working time is approximately 45 seconds.

Finish the provisional utilizing
diamonds, carbides and rubber points. Open the embrasures using a thin
separating disc.

Final polish with composite high
shine materials or utilize Stern Vantage Varnish LC which is a unfilled light
cure resin which produces a high gloss, hard surface with no polishing
necessary.
